David Woronets

PROJECT MANAGER | OWNER

David has 22 years of bicycle industry experience. David’s first job in the industry was in 1988 as a mechanic at La Habra Cyclery. A lot of time has passed since then and David now has operations, purchasing, domestic and foreign production management experience. David has worked for companies such as Felt Bicycles, Chumba Racing and Ellsworth Handcrafted Bicycles. David is a former Category 1 road and track racer as well as a professional DH racer and freerider.

Tchavdar "Chevy" Marinov

MASTER WELDER

Chevy has worked in the bicycle industry for 16 years. Chevy started as a mechanic in a small shop and has been a master welder for the last 10 years. 

Chevy’s favorite trail is Siouxon Creek in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Washington.

Favorite quote – Excellence is not an act but a habit

Interesting Chevy Facts: Chevy worked at a zoo caring for tigers.

Chevy is not only a master welder but a master athlete, kicking ass at soccer, tennis, swimming, cycling….











Jen Woronets

OPERATIONS COORDINATOR | OWNER

Jen has 12 years project coordination, administrative and customer service experience.  Jen’s background includes administrative positions in environmental consulting, manufacturing and construction.  Jen is a multi-task master dedicated to the success of her team. 

Jen thinks she is a monkey…and maybe she is.

Jen is obsessed with smiley faces  :) (see!)

Her favorite food is pickles YUM

Children are a boxer mix , a pitty/pointer and a shepherd/ridgeback.

Jen’s dream is to one day run a farm sanctuary.



Rick Zitzmann

ENGINEER

After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Rick cut his bicycle industry teeth in the mid 90’s in the engineering dept at SAPA (back then Anodizing Inc). After gleaning five years worth of production manufacturing experience, Rick decided to strike out on his own, getting in on the design end. Since then, Rick has helped a multitude of companies bring their dreams to reality, providing design engineering, and coordination and support in bringing these designs to manufacturers. Currently, Rick is very excited to work with Zen Bicycle Fabrication, as he believes there is an advantage in keeping production close to home, especially so for small batches of product and can think of no better place to do that then in Portland, Oregon.

Jonathon Sieber

WELDER | FABRICATOR

Jon started riding road bikes in the late 80's in High school, then in the early 90's got in to mountain biking. Jon was taking an art class in collage and fell in love with welding and enrolled in welding school. After welding school Jon got a job at Anodizing Inc tacking frames, combining two things he loved. Jon moved over to Kinesis USA and grew as a frame builder. Jon worked with some guys from Kinesis and started Tonic Fabrications and for a few years that was a fun project. Jon left Tonic and started Cascadia Bicycles as a one man show. Jon went to work at Specialized as their prototype frame builder down in California for a few years but could never really pull up roots from Portland. After returning to Portland, Jon found Zen and all is right in the world again.

Jon’s pets are Lucy, the prettiest dog in town and NovaPoopsAlot, his cat that has just found it voice after 13 years and is making up for lost time; MEOW.

Casey Bolthouse

FABRICATOR

Casey grew up wrenching on bikes and playing with power tools at his family’s hardware store in Michigan. He relocated to Portland in 2006 after a few too many winters of riding through snow and ice. Casey has spent the last four years fixing bikes at The Bike Gallery, studying mechanical engineering at Portland State University, performing freelance CAD work, and exploring the world by bike (one pedal stroke at a time).
Casey's favorite place to ride is anywhere that has vineyards and sunshine

Casey's favorite movie is The Shawshank Redemption. Favorite book is The Catcher in The Rye
Favorite drink - Gin and Tonic, followed closely by red wine from The Rhone Valley

Stephen Martsolf

WELDER/FABRICATOR

Stephen started in the industry volunteering building bikes out of donated parts at a coop while he was working as a bike messenger. From there Stephen started frame building at Bike Friday and Co-motion in Eugene. Then Stephen moved back to Portland and spent 4+ years at Kinesis. Stephen has spent time working at general fabrication shops doing everything from custom motorcycle parts to 20+ foot long 10 foot high stainless heat exchangers.

Stephen’s most influential person besides his beautiful partner Jennifer, gotta say Joe Strummer, hands down
Stephen’s non bike related hobbies include martial arts, surfing and vintage motorcycles
